Punjabi & Sikh Weddings
Punjabi Wedding & Baraat Car Rental in Calgary
White Rolls Royce baraat. Multi-vehicle ceremony coordination. Mehndi, sangeet, jago, anand karaj, reception — the full wedding weekend, handled by a team that runs them every season.
Calgary has one of Canada's largest and most vibrant Punjabi communities, and the wedding traditions here run deep. A Punjabi wedding isn't one event — it's a series of celebrations across multiple days, often with several hundred guests, multiple ceremonies, and transportation logistics that would overwhelm a vendor who only does Western weddings.
The Foreigns is set up for the way Punjabi and Sikh weddings actually run: white Rolls Royce baraat cars, multi-vehicle bridal party transport, coordinated arrivals at the gurdwara, and the timing precision that a non-stop three-to-five-day wedding weekend demands. A dedicated point of contact handles every vehicle through every ceremony.
The Baraat
The Groom's Car
For most Calgary Punjabi weddings, the baraat car is a white Rolls Royce Ghost. The reasons are equal parts cultural and photographic: the bright white finish reads beautifully against the groom's sherwani and turban, the silver Spirit of Ecstasy is unmistakable in family photos for generations, and the Ghost has a presence that befits the moment.
Decoration is coordinated with your florist. Most baraats include fresh flower garlands across the hood and bumper, sometimes ribbons in the wedding's colour palette, and occasionally a personal touch on the rear deck. Your photographer will direct exact positioning — we make sure the car arrives early, parked precisely where they want it, ready for the doors-up reveal.
Some couples choose to ride together to the venue after the milni; others keep separate cars right up until the anand karaj. We support both — just let us know when we're briefing your itinerary.
Other vehicles families request for the baraat: Bentley Flying Spur (modern, athletic profile), white Cadillac Escalade Sport Platinum (when the groom is travelling with brothers and uncles), and occasionally the Lamborghini Aventador for couples who want the doors-up reveal to be the photograph of the wedding.
Multi-Vehicle
A Vehicle for Every Role
Punjabi weddings rarely involve a single vehicle. A typical booking includes multiple cars coordinated across the day.
Groom's Baraat Car
White Rolls Royce Ghost is the most-requested. Bentley Flying Spur and white Cadillac Escalade Sport Platinum are popular alternatives. Decorated with fresh flowers per your florist.
Bride's Car
For couples who keep separate cars to the venue. Usually a Bentley, Rolls Royce, or premium SUV. Coordinated to arrive after the baraat is in position.
Bridal Party Transport
Cadillac Escalade Sport Platinum or Chevrolet Suburban for the bridesmaids and bridal party. Pickup at the prep location, hold during photos, transport to the reception.
Family Vehicles
Parents, grandparents, immediate family. Additional luxury sedans or SUVs to ensure no one is waiting for a ride between gurdwara, photos, and reception.
Doli & Going-Away Car
The vehicle the bride and groom leave in after the reception. Often a Rolls Royce or Bentley with custom signage. We coordinate the exit timing with your DJ and coordinator.
Photo & Video Vehicle
Some couples book a dedicated vehicle for portrait and creative shots throughout the day — a Lamborghini or convertible for the photographer to direct the couple toward at golden hour.
Multi-Day Coverage
The Full Wedding Weekend
A typical Calgary Punjabi wedding runs three to five days. We build the transportation plan around the entire schedule, not just the wedding day.
Mehndi
Often at a family home or banquet hall. Vehicles for the bride and immediate family. Lower-key transport, but the day's photos still want a clean luxury arrival.
Sangeet
Music, dance, and the heart of the pre-wedding celebrations. Multiple vehicles for both families as guests are picked up and dropped at the venue. Often pairs with a luxury car the couple uses for entrance/exit photography.
Jago
Late-night celebration that runs into the early hours. Some families request a vehicle on standby for safe transport of out-of-town guests.
Anand Karaj / Ceremony
The main wedding day. White Rolls Royce baraat, bride's car, bridal party Escalade, family vehicles. Coordinated arrivals at the gurdwara or ceremony venue with timing locked to the milni.
Reception
Couple arrives in their preferred vehicle (often switching cars from the morning baraat to a different statement vehicle for the evening). Bridal party Escalade for entrances. Doli / going-away car for the exit.

FAQ
Punjabi Wedding Transportation, Answered
Which car is most popular for a Calgary baraat?
White Rolls Royce Ghost. It's been the most-requested baraat vehicle in our fleet for years — the colour reads beautifully against the groom's sherwani and turban, the photographs hold up for generations, and the Ghost has the presence the moment deserves. Other popular choices are the Bentley Flying Spur and a white Cadillac Escalade Sport Platinum.
How many vehicles do we need for a typical Punjabi wedding?
Most Calgary Punjabi weddings book 3 to 6 vehicles. A standard configuration: groom's baraat car (Rolls Royce), bride's car (Bentley), bridal party Escalade, one or two family vehicles, plus a going-away car for the reception exit. We size the package to your guest count and ceremonies.
How is multi-day pricing handled?
Multi-day weddings (mehndi, sangeet, jago, ceremony, reception) are priced as a single package rather than per-day. The package includes all vehicles, all chauffeurs, mileage, and coordination across the full schedule. You get one quote, one point of contact, one bill.
Can the cars be decorated with fresh flowers?
Yes. Floral decoration on the baraat car is standard for most Punjabi weddings. We coordinate directly with your florist on garland placement, ribbon colours, and any custom signage. We don't supply florals ourselves — your florist handles the arrangement, we make sure the car is in position and detail-cleaned beforehand.
How far in advance should we book?
For peak-season weddings (May through October), at least 4 to 6 months ahead. For multi-vehicle bookings on a busy Saturday, 6 to 12 months is safer — specific vehicles like the white Rolls Royce Ghost fill first. Off-season Punjabi weddings (November through March) can often be booked inside 60 days.
Do you coordinate with our wedding planner?
Yes — this is standard. We work directly with Calgary's Punjabi wedding planners and decorators to align timelines, vehicle positioning, and photography cues. If you don't have a planner, we coordinate with you and your families.
Can the groom and groom's party arrive together in one vehicle?
For very small wedding parties, yes — the Rolls Royce Ghost seats four and the Cadillac Escalade seats seven. For larger groom's parties, we typically pair the groom's Rolls Royce with one or two additional vehicles so brothers, cousins, and the immediate family arrive in style alongside him.
What about the doli? Can we have a special exit car for the bride?
Absolutely. The doli car is often the most photographed vehicle of the entire wedding. Couples typically choose a Rolls Royce or Bentley in a different colour from the baraat car (so the cars are visually distinct in photos), often with custom signage on the rear or a fresh floral arrangement. Timing is coordinated with your DJ and coordinator to make the exit a moment.
Can you handle weddings at multiple gurdwaras or venues?
Yes. Multi-venue weddings — gurdwara for the anand karaj, a banquet hall for the reception, possibly a separate venue for sangeet or mehndi — are standard for Calgary Punjabi weddings. We build the route plan and timing accordingly.
Do you cover Hindu and other South Asian weddings as well?
Yes. Our team has experience with the full range of South Asian wedding traditions — Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Christian Indian, and inter-faith ceremonies. The vehicle logic is similar (multi-vehicle, multi-day, decorated cars) and we adapt the coordination to your specific traditions.
What if our wedding is in Banff, Canmore, or outside Calgary?
Punjabi destination weddings in Banff and Canmore are increasingly common and we handle them regularly. Destination quotes include the vehicle, chauffeur, mileage, and a chauffeur overnight allowance for multi-day events. Just share your destination details when you reach out.
Is the chauffeur familiar with Punjabi wedding traditions?
Yes. Our chauffeurs are briefed on the order of events, the cultural significance of each ceremony, and where to be when. They're discreet, professional, and won't interrupt a milni or a doli — they'll position the vehicle, open the doors when needed, and step back.
